Inacronyms (pronounced "In-Ackrow-Nimz") are combinations of symbols and characters that take a form similar to acronyms. If you want to get technical, an acronym is a form of abbreviation for words usually consisting of the first letters of each word. For example, CEO is an acronym for Chief Executive Officer. Inacronyms are extensions of acronyms where variations of characters and letters are used with symbols as a type of mnemonic to represent a concept. Inacronyms make it easier to advertise yourself or organization by summarizing a lot of information quickly.
A VIPA or Visual Interpersonal Advertisement is our fun method for communicating preselected personal or organization attributes to anyone. A VIPA is a stack of personal preferences or features that are organized in what we call a "data totem pole." Each personal profile attribute or feature is stacked on top of the other in an effective and visually pleasing format that resembles a totem pole. The VIPA makes it easy to quickly view the Inacronyms and determine what a person or organization wants to advertise. VIPA's can also function as launch pads to the concepts behind the Inacronyms. For example, an Inacronym for a company can function as a hyperlink to that company's website.
Interpreting someone's Inacronyms on their VIPA is easy. It is as simple as viewing the InacroKey© and matching the Inacronym to the meaning in the key. In many cases the InacroKey is built into the display of the VIPA. Many Inacronyms do not require the key since their meaning is self evident. The ones that may require the key are learned quickly as they are often very intuitive. The InacroKey is available for free on the website at www.inacronym.com.
Winky is our mascot and a unique way of delivering your VIPA. Winky uses his body to tell your story through a VIPA. Because he knows the great story you have to tell about yourself, he winks at you. Hence he uses the name Winky.
Well, this is kind of like the story about how space shuttle booster rockets are only as wide as railroad tracks because of Roman carriages. We started out with the goals that advertisements about you should be efficient in communication and easily visible. After several implementations of the VIPA, we discovered that 4 Inacronyms in the data totem pole was the optimum design to accomplish our goals. The Inacronyms are easier to read in stacks of 4 and were easier to quickly profile.
Well, yes. We do not programmatically prevent you from doing so. After all, this in and of itself can be a statement about how you feel about a particular item. However, you may be better served by using your 4 Inacronyms on your VIPA to say as much about yourself as you can. We recommend updating your VIPA frequently with different Inacronyms to see which advertisement data totem pole works best for you.
This is kind of like asking for the secret recipe for Bush® beans from Duke the dog. Well, not exactly. We decided early on that Inacronyms were to be designed with 2 goals: 1) they should be efficient in communication, and 2) they should be easily visible. There is also an unwritten goal for Inacronyms being fun, easy, and unique when possible. Inacronyms are drawn from various influences including advertisements, company and product logos, computer codes, as well as art. Our goal is to provide a platform that allows you to communicate what you feel about specific concepts. If we utilize a logo or symbol for an organization or concept, our intention is flattery and viral communications on behalf of those organizations or concepts.
Many ideas are generated from brainstorming among the Inacronym team. In the end, Winky has the final approval for all new Inacronyms and features (just kidding).
